Abbey Place is comprised of two towers (13 and 20 storeys) with roof gardens including play spaces. This project, for Hub Residential and JJR, delivers 245 residential apartments, 70% of which are affordable housing. There is also over 800 m2 of flexible commercial space as well as brand new private and public amenity spaces. The development is a benchmark for the rejuvenation of the Abbey Wood and the surrounding areas. The homes are a mix of 1 – 3 bedroom apartments and provide energy-efficient, naturally ventilated and light-filled spaces with panoramic views. All of the apartments have private external spaces in the form of landscaped terraces or balconies. The cladding of the towers is a robust, grid-effect cladding, expressed by an extruded ‘primary’ framing on each elevation, which provides depth and articulation and terminates on both towers in a sky frame over the rooftop gardens.
