Businesses of all sizes around the UK are committing to do their bit to cut carbon emissions and protect the planet, but small and medium-sized businesses have been cited as being essential to achieving net-zero carbon emissions, limiting the worst impacts of climate change, and shifting the global economy towards a sustainable future.

The SME Climate Commitment has been designed specifically for small and medium-sized enterprises to align their operations with the latest climate science. An SME Climate Hub has been created, and businesses like ours have been asked to take the first step on our journey, by committing to cutting carbon emissions in half by 2030 and to reach ‘net zero’ by 2050. Net-zero means that we are putting no more carbon into the atmosphere than we are taking out of it.

Recognising that climate change poses a threat to the economy, nature and society-at-large, our company commits to take action immediately in order to:

  • Halve our greenhouse gas emissions before 2030

  • Achieve net-zero emissions before 2050

  • Disclose our progress on a yearly basis

Our commitment is balance our purpose and our profit to build a better, more sustainable future.

LRA Architecture signed up to the  SME Climate Hub  in March 2022. In doing so, we are proud to be recognised by the United Nations Race to Zero campaign, and join governments, businesses, universities cities and regions around the World that share the same mission.
